Role

The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) is responsible for maintaining and expanding relationships with enterprise customers, ensuring that the annual revenue plan, margin goals and accounts receivable goals for all assigned accounts are met.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for achieving annual revenue, margin, and accounts receivable goals across all services for assigned strategic accounts
  • Establishes and cultivates long-term relationships with key customer contacts and decision-makers to drive the adoption of all Nextech products and services
  • Develops, updates, and executes comprehensive annual account plans for each assigned customer, ensuring alignment with both customer objectives and business goals
  • Acts as the primary liaison for customers, ensuring that administrative and operational issues are communicated to and addressed by the appropriate Nextech teams in a timely manner
  • Collaborates with Sales Operations to manage the service contract RFP process for renewals, providing critical sales-related information to support the RFP process
  • Identifies and proactively pursues new sales opportunities within existing accounts, aiming to expand service offerings and drive revenue growth
  • Continuously assesses and validates customer needs, leading the development of tailored solutions that best address customer requirements and add value to the partnership
  • Manages accounts receivable for assigned accounts, ensuring timely and accurate billing, as well as effective collections processes to optimize cash flow
  • Completes assigned tasks in a safe, accurate, thorough, and alert manner
  • Upholds Company policies and procedures
  • Works in a professional manner with managers, supervisors, coworkers, customers, and the public
  • Other related job duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Proficient with CRM (Salesforce, Gold Mine, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of construction and service industry a plus, including principles and practices related to project estimation, labor forecasting, and building permits
  • Knowledge of commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment and industry, preferred
  • Strong leadership & influencing skills, with demonstrated ability to champion organizational initiatives across the organization
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy and professionalism
  • Exceptional collaborative team-oriented communication skills
  • Ability to make decisions that have a significant impact on the department’s credibility, operations and service
  • Ability to interface across all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects, set and balance competing priorities with strong organization skills and ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrate strong customer service skills, ability to proactively address customer issues and concerns
  • Ability to organize and prioritize own work schedule and the work schedules of others on a short-term and long-term basis to meet deadlines and business needs
  • Ability to compute, analyze, and interpret complex statistical data and/or to develop forecasts
  • Ability to make informal and formal presentations, inside and/or outside the organization; speaking before groups
  • Exceptional attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to travel up to 30%

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5-7 years Large Regional and/or Enterprise Account Management and sales experience
  • Required experience with contract negotiations, forecasting and budgeting
  • Must have strong relationship building and management background
  • Previous experience in HVAC Industry or other service business preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Continuously able to work in office environment
  • Continuously able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine, telephone, and computer printer
  • Continuously able to sit at a computer for up to 8 hours
  • Able to alternate between sitting and standing, as needed throughout the day
  • Occasionally able to lift up to 15
  • Continuously requires vision, hearing, twisting, and talking
  • Occasionally requires walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, bending, and crouching
  • Rarely requires climbing
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
