What You’ll Be Doing

As an Area Service Manager – Projects, you’ll take the lead in driving success across large-scale commercial projects, guiding a team of skilled Technicians, and ensuring every job meets Nextech’s gold standard of safety, quality, and performance. This is a high-impact leadership role where you’ll shape teams, strengthen operations, and protect Nextech’s reputation as the industry leader.

  • Recruit, hire, and develop top-performing Technicians to build a best-in-class workforce

  • Forecast staffing needs and strategically allocate Technicians to projects for maximum efficiency

  • Lead project coordination with internal teams and fellow Area Service Managers

  • Drive Technician productivity and performance through coaching, training, and hands-on mentorship

  • Ensure project quality by conducting site visits, ride-alongs, and pre-installation surveys

  • Handle escalated field issues with professionalism and solutions-driven leadership

  • Lead weekly project meetings to align teams on goals, safety, and technical excellence

  • Protect Nextech’s reputation by setting the standard in safety, integrity, and professionalism

  • Partner with senior leadership on performance reviews, training plans, and project goals

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years as an HVAC Service Technician, Management experience is a plus
  • Technical knowledge necessary to provide value to our technicians and customers
  • Maintain continuous education in the technical field
  • Must be able to conduct professional conversation with customers and resolve concerns locally before they escalate
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to focus on desired results
  • Ability to adapt to very fast-paced environment and deadlines
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance
  • Must be able to travel as needed
  • Experience in recruiting and hiring Technicians

 

 

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a proven technical leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and knows how to elevate people, projects, and performance. The right candidate will bring a balance of HVAC expertise, team leadership, and customer-first professionalism.

  • Demonstrated success in managing commercial HVAC/R projects and leading teams

  • Strong technical knowledge with the ability to coach and support field Technicians

  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, and developing high-performing talent

  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills to juggle multiple priorities

  • Dedication to safety, craftsmanship, and continuous learning

  • Ability to travel as needed to support projects

  • Physically able to perform site visits, including lifting, climbing ladders, and maneuvering equipment when necessary

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 100 pounds.
  • Must be able to pick up and maneuver a 32-foot ladder, which weighs approximately 96 pounds.
  • Must not exceed ladder ratings
  • Excessive kneeling and squatting
  • Must be able to climb ladders multiple times
  • Must be able to haul equipment and tools to roof via ladders
  • Must be able to drive extended hours for calls.  This could require up to 8-10 hours of driving time.
  • Must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine, telephone, and computer printer, iPad, and cell phone
  • Must be able to alternate between sitting and standing, as needed throughout the day
  • Continuously requires vision, hearing, twisting, and talking 
  • Continuously requires walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, bending, and crouching
